In small and medium-sized centralized air conditioning systems, air distribution requires units that integrate with ductwork while maintaining high performance, ease of installation, and accessibility for maintenance. Aertesi's Soffio was designed for this type of application: a series of ducted units designed to air condition rooms through duct-controlled air distribution.
The range is suitable for professional settings such as offices, shops, studios, and clinics , where air conditioning must be effective yet discreet, with a system that integrates seamlessly into the architecture of the spaces. The high-pressure fans are sized to provide 70 Pa of pressure at nominal flow ; for larger installations, Aertesi also offers the 150 Pa Soffio HP version.
From the HC to the VD version: installation flexibility and reversible hydraulic connections on site
One of the key aspects of the Soffio series is the ability to adapt the unit to different design and installation conditions. The range is available in the horizontal HC version, with inlet in line with the outlet, the vertical VC version , also with inline inlet, and the vertical VD version , with front inlet. In addition to these configurations, there is the option of choosing between a single or double panel, to meet different needs in terms of system layout and accessibility.
Flexibility also extends to the management of hydraulic connections, which can be modified on site. This allows the installer to intervene with greater freedom based on the actual conditions of the technical space, reducing any constraints related to the system's layout.
From a construction standpoint, Soffio is made of thick galvanized sheet metal panels , between 1.00 and 1.50 mm, and incorporates 10 mm of sound-absorbing insulation material (class HF1 according to UL94), which is self-extinguishing and non-dripping. This configuration is designed to reduce vibrations and noise, two particularly important aspects in work environments and in contexts where acoustic comfort affects the quality of interior spaces.
Modulating ventilation and reduced consumption with the Soffio EC versions
Soffio is available with both a traditional three-speed AC motor and a low-consumption EC motor . The EC version allows for precise modulation of the fan speed, adapting the unit's operation to the actual load required by the room. This allows for more targeted energy use, avoiding unnecessary inputs and contributing to more efficient system management.
According to the range data, Soffio reaches performances of up to 17.1 kW in cooling, 20.8 kW in heating and an air flow rate of up to 4090 m³/h, with a possible reduction in consumption of up to 20%. The series can also work with water coils and, as indicated in the Aertesi documentation, also with R410A direct expansion coils.
System control has also been developed to facilitate the management of multiple units. Soffio allows Master/Slave combinations of up to 24 units and can be integrated into supervision systems via TOP3, SP3, and Modbus protocol , with the possibility of controlling up to 240 units without data loggers. This compatibility with BMS logic makes the series also suitable for buildings and applications where air conditioning must be managed centrally and coordinated.
Internal accessibility and quick maintenance without disconnecting channels
Maintenance is another element on which Aertesi has worked specifically. The filter of Soffio can be removed from the bottom or sides without tools, simplifying cleaning and periodic inspections. Internal components and electrical and electronic devices are also easily accessible, without the need to disconnect the ducts.
This setting is particularly useful in ducted systems, where access to the unit can be more complex than with other types of terminals. Reducing intervention times and simplifying component inspections makes the installer's job easier and promotes more orderly system management over time.

Soffio è indicata per impianti di climatizzazione centralizzati di piccole e medie dimensioni, in particolare in uffici, negozi, studi professionali, cliniche e ambienti commerciali dove la distribuzione dell’aria avviene tramite canalizzazioni. È una soluzione adatta quando si vuole mantenere il terminale nascosto o integrato nell’architettura, garantendo climatizzazione efficace senza impattare sull’estetica degli spazi.
Soffio è indicata quando il progetto richiede una distribuzione dell’aria più flessibile rispetto a un terminale a vista, ad esempio per servire più zone, posizionare le bocchette in punti strategici o integrare l’impianto in controsoffitti e spazi tecnici. La prevalenza fino a 70 Pa consente il collegamento a canalizzazioni compatte, mentre per reti più estese o con perdite di carico superiori è disponibile la versione Soffio HP da 150 Pa.
La versione con motore AC a tre velocità è adatta ad applicazioni con esigenze di regolazione più semplici, mentre la versione EC permette una modulazione più precisa della velocità del ventilatore. Il motore EC consente di adeguare la portata d’aria al carico effettivo dell’ambiente, riducendo i consumi e migliorando la gestione del comfort, soprattutto in edifici con occupazione variabile o funzionamento prolungato.
