Climate Wizard CW-80: Efficient cooling for the efficient treatment of large air volumes

Large volume air conditioning system, designed to ensure high performance, low energy consumption and humidity control in complex HVAC applications.

In the context of commercial and industrial air conditioning, the management of large volumes of air represents one of the main design challenges, especially when high thermal loads are combined with stringent requirements for energy efficiency and indoor air quality .
The Climate Wizard CW-80 , developed by Seeley International, fits into this scenario as a cooling solution capable of providing 100% cooled outside air, without increasing humidity, and with significantly lower consumption than compression systems.

The CW-80 series is designed for applications where cooling cannot be limited to simple temperature control but must ensure operational continuity, performance stability, and integration with complex HVAC systems . Logistics warehouses, industrial buildings, large commercial spaces, and environments with high air exchange find in this technology a concrete answer to contemporary operational needs.

Multi-Cycle Cooling: Principle and Functional Benefits

The operation of the Climate Wizard CW-80 is based on the principle of Multi-Cycle indirect evaporative cooling , a technology that allows you to exploit the thermodynamic potential of water evaporation without it coming into contact with the supply air.
Inside the unit, heat exchange occurs through a high-efficiency core that physically separates the process airflow from the wet airflow, allowing the outside air temperature to be reduced while maintaining its moisture content unchanged.

This aspect represents a distinctive element compared to direct evaporative systems, in which increased humidity can constitute an application limitation. In the CW-80, however, the air introduced into the environments is cooler but not more humid , making the system compatible with production processes, continuously occupied environments, and contexts in which humidity control is a critical parameter.

The Climate Wizard CW80 can deliver airflows of up to 30,600 m³/h at 270 Pa , consuming 14 kW of power and offering cooling capacity of up to 234 kW. It achieves refrigeration-like discharge temperatures using only water as the refrigerant.

Range configuration, construction robustness and continuity of operation

The CW-80 range includes standard versions, high-capacity configurations and Supercool variants , designed to increase the available cooling power and adapt to different building scales and different system strategies. The system can operate both as a stand-alone cooling solution and as a pre-treatment stage for outside air within more complex HVAC systems, offering the designer a high level of flexibility in defining the system architecture. From this perspective, using the CW-80 as a pre-cooler allows the load on traditional refrigeration units to be lightened , improving the overall efficiency of the system and reducing peaks in electrical consumption under maximum load conditions.

From a construction standpoint, the Climate Wizard CW-80 is designed for intensive industrial use , thanks to a stainless steel structure and components selected to withstand harsh operating conditions. The high-efficiency, electronically controlled fans ensure precise regulation of air flow rates, while the filtration system protects the exchanger and helps improve the quality of the air introduced into the rooms. Water management, a central element in evaporative cooling, is optimized to limit deposits and simplify operating operations, ensuring reliability, operational continuity, and reduced maintenance even in critical applications.

Intelligent supervision and control in integrated HVAC systems

Another strong point of the CW-80 is the possibility of integration into modern supervision and control systems . The unit can be managed within BMS architectures, communicating with the other components of the HVAC system to optimize operation based on actual environmental conditions and internal loads.

This integration allows for the adoption of hybrid air conditioning strategies, in which indirect evaporative cooling covers a significant portion of the needs, leaving compression systems solely to intervene at peak times or for the fine control of internal conditions.

A technical solution oriented towards efficiency and sustainability

The Climate Wizard CW-80 represents a concrete response to the energy efficiency and sustainability needs that currently drive the design of HVAC systems for large buildings. The absence of refrigerants, low electricity consumption, and the ability to handle large flow rates of outside air make this technology particularly attractive to those who need to design high-performance, reliable systems that minimize environmental impact .

For the professional HVAC world, the CW-80 is not simply an alternative to traditional systems, but a design tool that expands the system configuration possibilities, offering new levers for optimizing performance, operating costs and indoor air quality.

The Climate Wizard CW-80 in the context of MCE

The Climate Wizard CW-80 will also be presented at trade fairs as an application case for indirect evaporative cooling for the HVAC sector. Specifically, the technology will be on display at the Mostra Convegno Expocomfort (MCE), one of the leading technical conferences dedicated to system design for commercial and industrial buildings (Stand P12, Hall 9) . The trade fair will provide an opportunity to learn more about the Multi-Cycle core and the system's application potential in terms of system integration, management of large air volumes, and reduction of energy consumption—key themes in HVAC design today.
