The YORK® YLPA: air to water, naturally.
The YORK® YLPA is Johnson Controls’ third generation of scroll heat pumps. Continuous honing of the design has led to an even higher performance, while maintaining the reliability. The incorporation of multiple scroll compressors results in high full load efficiency, exceeding the requirements of the Eurovent A-Class certification program in both cooling and heating modes. The operation at part load exceeds full load efficiency, driving down operating costs and further increasing efficiency. Efficiency gains also result from minimizing the impact of the defrost cycle. The extended envelope enables operation down to -10°C with production of hot water temperature above 45°C, thus minimizing the need for operating a support boiler.
The YLPA’s excellent efficiency performance goes hand in hand with strong sound performance, running at sound levels as low as 57dBA. It’s been specifically designed for low sound operation by arranging all the compressors together in one acoustically sealed enclosure. The sound reduction configurations can be tailored to the specific needs of the customers.
More efficiency means more energy savings. However YLPA does not stop at energy saving, it is specifically designed for R410A, which has zero ozone-depletion potential (ODP). The European Partnership for Energy and the Environment (EPEE) has stated that heat pumps like the YLPA can help European Member States achieve their renewables targets.
The design of the YLPA heat pump is very compact with all hydronic components integrated. This helps saving floor space in new builds and makes it easy to squeeze the installation into retrofits. YLPA can easily be integrated into the Metasys® building management system.
