THE FIRST INTERNATIONAL FORUM ON NEW ENERGIES WENT BEYOND EXPECTATIONS
More than a thousand people took part in Green City Energy, the first international forum on new energies organized by Clickutility, promoted by Pisa Local Administration, Province and Tuscan Region in cooperation with Pisa University and S. Anna High School.
Carlo Silva, Clickutility president, maintained: “Pisa gave us an incredible feedback, doubling visiting expectations. The city demonstrates to be the perfect platform to develop international events on new energies and technology innovation and I’m sure the project will grow and develop next year”.
Ermete Realacci, Legambiente honorary chairman and Green Economy PD national manager, made his intervention during the final session titled “Green city and Green economy”, saying that “at the moment we must see how to defend ourselves from crisis avoiding a tear in society. We must concentrate on those who lost or risk to lose their job, support small and medium companies and help low income families. We also need to learn how to leave crisis back. Green economy, aiming at research, innovation and quality in all its sectors, represents one million new jobs for our country. Pisa, with its research centres and universities, is a core place”.
Marco Filippeschi, Pisa mayor, closed the event launching the strategies for an Italian Smart cities “network” maintaining: “ the first edition has been a success: more than 1000 registrations, many participants, loads of citizens who took information and tried electric cars. Cities are Green economy decisive “construction sites” because the majority of produced energy is used here and they create technology and habit changes. Everything tested or realized in Pisa, such as electric mobility, renewable energy production, smart distribution, companies and houses energy saving, wind energy, geothermal and hydrogen already represents the core of a new economy and of a different vision. High level training, research and hi-tech companies make the change visible and exemplary”.
