Tecnosystemi obtains three new EPD certifications

EPD ( Environmental Product Declaration) certifications are Type III environmental product declarations requested on a voluntary basis and issued by a third-party body (in this case, TUV) in accordance with the international standard ISO 14025. Their objective is to quantify the environmental impacts of products throughout their entire life cycle ("from cradle to grave"), providing a transparent and comparable overview of a company's environmental performance. They are valid for five years, during which annual monitoring is performed to ensure that results do not deteriorate.

Obtaining a certification EPD allows you to:

  • Respond to new regulatory requirements in terms of sustainability.
  • Gain a competitive advantage over the competition (in tenders, those who possess it are favored).
  • Compare the environmental performance of different products on the market.
  • Improving corporate credibility through environmental transparency.

In 2024, Tecnosystemi began evaluating the environmental impacts of its products with the Excellens and Optima cable ducts (and related accessories), extending the analysis this year to new product families , including those subject to the new certifications.

The company has undertaken a three-year commitment to continuous monitoring and improvement , with the aim of meeting increasingly stringent regulatory requirements , obtaining competitive advantages in tenders and strengthening its credibility on the international market.

EPD certifications are just one part of Tecnosystemi's commitment to sustainability. As its latest Sustainability Report notes, the company powers its plants with 1.6 MW of photovoltaic energy , covering over 85% of its energy needs . 100% of the energy used is renewable , either internally generated or purchased with a Guarantee of Origin.

GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions related to its activity are 97% “Scope 3” : this means that 97% of its climate impact depends on suppliers , transport and the use of its products, and not on the activity of the headquarters.

Tecnosystemi then installed five mills for grinding and recycling plastic waste, recovering 168 tons of plastic from production waste, and launched a reforestation project , planting 78 native trees in the areas adjacent to the factories.
