The NRG series air-to-water chillers and heat pumps represent excellence among machines using the R32 refrigerant, enabling the full exploitation of the excellent thermodynamic properties of this eco-friendly refrigerant while ensuring complete safety. The heat pump range is now complete with 6 new sizes that offer capacities—both for cooling and heating—that exceed 900 kW.

Designed for outdoor installation, they are particularly well suited for heating, cooling, and domestic hot water production. The range is divided into two segments: small sizes for low- and medium-power systems with a vertical dual-battery configuration (from 52 kW to 212 kW), and large sizes with a V-block structure (from 195 kW to 963 kW).

The already high seasonal efficiency ratings (SEER and SCOP) can be further improved by selecting inverter fans as an option, while quiet operation is guaranteed by the use of next-generation scroll compressors that deliver extremely low noise emissions. Additionally, the Night Mode function allows for noise level reduction during nighttime or during other acoustically sensitive periods.

An integrated hydronic kit option is available across the entire range. This kit incorporates the key hydraulic components, facilitating installation and offering a plug-and-play solution. The pumps—available as single or double units—can be controlled by fixed-speed inverters to simplify calibration during start-up.

The NRG series chillers and heat pumps offer a very wide operating range. They can operate at full load even when the external air temperature reaches up to +50°C, and they can produce chilled water down to -10°C in cooling mode and hot water up to 60°C in heat pump mode.

Environmental consideration is ensured by the use of the eco-friendly refrigerant R32, whose global warming potential is less than one-third that of traditional refrigerants. Furthermore, the use of finned batteries with reduced-diameter tubes, in combination with a refrigerant such as R32 that has very high specific energies and low GWP, helps minimise the refrigerant charge in the circuit and further reduce the direct impact of the heat pumps.

The use of A2L-class R32 (non-toxic and slightly flammable) in the NRG series units is completely safe, thanks to the meticulous design of the circuit components, the rigorous testing conducted during production, design choices aimed at minimising and isolating potential ignition sources (such as an electrical control panel separated by a seal from the compressor compartment), and the inclusion of safety components (leak detectors) within the unit that, in the event of a leak, can shut down the compressors and initiate safety procedures.
