The new edition of KEY – The Energy Transition Expo will be held in Rimini from March 4 to 6, 2026. The well-established event has been updated with an updated layout, seven integrated thematic areas, and a stronger focus on energy efficiency . It will host companies, institutions, and startups committed to the green transition, with spaces dedicated to Africa and Europe, hydrogen, energy storage, electric mobility, and sustainable cities. Among the new features is the B2B event “KEY CHOICE – Unlock the future of PPA,” aimed at fostering partnerships between producers and large buyers of clean energy.

Renewed thematic areas: efficiency as a central hub

KEY 2026 stands out for its completely revamped trade fair organization: seven thematic areas covering photovoltaics, wind energy, storage, energy efficiency, electric mobility, sustainable cities, and hydrogen. Energy efficiency takes on a special role, no longer marginal, but central to the event. The dedicated Energy Efficiency district will host the Sustainable Building District in collaboration with the Green Building Council Italia, and will involve the entire construction supply chain under the aegis of Federcostruzioni. This allows operators in the construction, plant engineering, and technology sectors to engage in a vertical exchange of ideas on materials, technologies, regulations, and best practices in a context that promotes integrated sustainability.

Internationalization and development of emerging markets

KEY 2026 is strongly committed to internationality: in addition to Europe, the event is also targeting growth markets such as Africa, the Balkans, and Turkey. Promotional tours ("roadshows") have already been organized in cities such as Cairo, Belgrade, and Warsaw to engage local operators and attract foreign participation. This international momentum is essential to facilitate technology transfer, innovation cooperation, and the development of regional supply chains. For companies, it is an opportunity both to promote products and services across borders and to access markets where demand for efficient solutions is rapidly increasing.

KEY CHOICE, innovation and skills: where B2B makes the difference

Among the 2026 edition's highlights is KEY CHOICE – Unlock the future of PPA , a B2B event dedicated to Power Purchase Agreements scheduled for March 3 at the Rimini Palacongressi. It will be a concrete platform where renewable energy producers and large consumers can discuss the most suitable contractual solutions, supply guarantees, and sustainability models. Alongside this, there will be space for technology startups with an international selection, the Lorenzo Cagnoni Innovation Award, and the Green Jobs & Skills event to foster the matching of market-demanded skills with specialized training.
