Galletti Booster: heat pumps for high-temperature water up to 90°C
Galletti presents the WBE and WBZ Booster heat pumps for the production of hot water up to 90°C with low GWP refrigerants.
Reducing climate-altering emissions also requires developing technologies capable of reducing both direct emissions, through the use of low-GWP refrigerants, and indirect emissions, thanks to highly energy-efficient systems. This is where the new Galletti Booster WBE and WBZ ranges come in. These non-reversible water-cooled heat pumps are designed for the production of high-temperature water.
The two series are available in 9 models , with a heating power range from 45 to 220 kW, and are designed to produce hot water up to 90°C , evaporating on a medium-temperature heat source, typically equal to 45°C. This feature also makes them suitable for cascade use with air-cooled heat pumps.
Two ranges for working with low GWP refrigerants
The WBE range uses R515B refrigerant, non-flammable and classified A1, with a GWP of 293. The WBZ range instead uses R1234ze refrigerant, slightly flammable, with a GWP of 1.37.
Both versions were developed to meet the need to combine high-temperature water production, seasonal efficiency, and reduced environmental impact. According to data reported by Galletti, the WBE range achieves SCOP values of up to 4.54, while the WBZ range achieves SCOP values of up to 4.71.
Extended operating range and system configurability

One of the key aspects of the Booster range is the wide operating range on the source side. The units can operate even at very low temperatures, down to 5°C , independently guaranteeing the entire temperature difference required by the system.
The solutions are available in single-compressor/single-circuit configurations for the smaller sizes and dual-compressor/dual-circuit configurations for the larger sizes. In terms of construction, the ranges include two versions, with or without closing panels, and three acoustic configurations: standard, silenced, and super silenced , with a reduction in sound power level of up to 6 dB(A).
The advanced control system, available on both ranges, allows for continuous monitoring of operating parameters, advanced control logic, and connectivity. In the case of the WBZ range, the system also integrates dedicated procedures to secure the unit in the event of A2L refrigerant leaks.
Efficiency, control and accessories for the hydraulic circuit
The Galletti Booster ranges integrate a series of features designed to facilitate system management and operational reliability. The main advantages highlighted by the company include:
- hot water production up to 90°C;
- source side water temperature from 5 °C;
- low GWP refrigerants: 293 for WBE and 1.37 for WBZ;
- high seasonal efficiency values;
- electronic expansion valve as standard;
- remote connectivity to the most common protocols;
- compact size;
- up to 4 compressors;
- 3 acoustic configurations available.
The units are also available, upon request, with two dirt separators for the hydraulic circuit, one on the source side and one on the user side, designed to retain heavy impurities present in the water and help protect the system.
With the WBE and WBZ Booster ranges, Galletti expands its offering for the production of high-temperature water, providing solutions designed to work with low GWP refrigerants and to meet the efficiency, configurability, and control needs of HVAC systems.
