The Galileo Study Center inaugurates the AI Center for Energy Innovation and Technology.

A new step towards the digital energy transition. The Galileo Study Center (CSG) , in collaboration with the Renewable Energy Institute (REI) and the European Centre of Technology (ECT) , has announced the creation of the AI Centre for Energy Innovation and Technology , an international hub with offices in Casale Monferrato and Edinburgh.

The initiative was created to integrate artificial intelligence into energy and efficiency processes, with the aim of accelerating the development of sustainable technologies and supporting the training of industry professionals. The new Center will be a hub for research, training, and the dissemination of technical knowledge related to the use of AI in the fields of renewable energy, energy storage, smart grids, and sustainable HVAC systems.

The project, led by the Renewable Energy Institute with the support of CSG and ECT, includes several lines of action:

  • professional training and certification for technicians and operators in the sector;
  • development of international standards and policies for the safe and effective use of AI;
  • scientific dissemination through journals, studies and technical reports;
  • applied research on the use of artificial intelligence to optimize energy consumption and reduce environmental impact.

The AI Centre builds on a long-standing collaboration between the three founding institutions and international organizations such as UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) and IIR (Institut International du Froid), with which CSG has been carrying out training activities, conferences, and cooperation projects for decades.

As underlined by Paolo Buoni, Director of the Renewable Energy Institute and ECT, “ with this project we are combining digital transformation with the energy transition, leveraging a wealth of technical knowledge and a global network of experts to accelerate sustainable change .”

With the creation of the AI Centre for Energy Innovation and Technology, the Galileo Study Centre confirms its leading role in training and innovation for a smarter, more efficient, and sustainable energy future.
