FIMER: Solar meets aquaculture in Taiwan in 132 MW project
FIMER is the protagonist of an innovative large-scale project realized in Chiayi, Taiwan , which integrates photovoltaic energy production and aquaculture activities , offering a concrete example of the application of the “fishery solar” model.
Developed in collaboration with SunnyRich Group , the project represents one of the most advanced international applications of integration between renewable energy and fish production, with a total installed power of 132 MW .
An integrated model between energy and aquaculture
The plant was designed according to a synergistic approach, in which solar energy generation coexists with livestock farming activities, without compromising the site's productivity.
Photovoltaic structures are installed above aquaculture facilities, optimizing the use of space while ensuring operational continuity for the underlying activities. This model combines environmental sustainability and production efficiency, contributing to the development of integrated ecosystems.
FIMER's technological contribution
For the project , 1,100 PVS-120-TL string inverters were installed , chosen to guarantee high efficiency, operational stability and long-term reliability, even in particularly complex environmental conditions such as those typical of aquaculture plants.
The inverter architecture allows for optimized energy conversion management and flexible plant design, contributing to clean energy production without interfering with livestock operations.
A new paradigm for the sector
The Chiayi project demonstrates how advanced solar technologies can be integrated with innovative production models, creating a sustainable and efficient system.
With this approach, FIMER contributes to the development of a new frontier in energy production, in which refrigeration, environmental management, and energy efficiency find increasingly transversal applications, including in the agri-food and fishing sectors.
