England wants reduce incentives for small photovoltaic systems

– At the beginning of December the British Government has declared its intention to make drastic “feed in tariffs” reduction for small size solar installations.

Following this announcement many companies and associations have protested. Solarcentury, HomeSun and Friends of the Earth defined the tariff reductions wrong and the decision of the British Government to cut the benefits, irregular and illegal.

The Court of Appeal has rejected the attempts of the British executive to overturn the decision of the High Court of Justice. After two years the incentives of British solar sector have achieved, with a series of reductions, the same destiny of the European markets already established in this sector like Italy or Germany. At present the Executive is considering the possibility of bringing the case in front of the Supreme Court, although the positions of Greg Barker – Minister for Energy and Climate Change doesn’t seem to change.

In fact he poses again to the Parliament to cut the incentives for small size solar systems suggesting a postponement of the beginning of the application from the third of March to the 12th of December.
