Aurora: a sustainable future is arising
KF Energy, leader in the renewable energy eld, and Frama, specialized in sun protection systems, are proud to present a worldwide unique patent: Aurora, the first photovoltaic roller awning that generates both electricity and shade.
By uniting each company’s specific competence, to look towards a better future, the two companies created a folding arm sun-awning that works like a real and proper solar energy exploiting unit. Aurora, in the version produced at the moment of 520 x 350 cm, is able to transform the sun rays into electrical energy, producing 1 kWp; all this thanks to the special canvas that consists in photovoltaic modules in amorphous siliceous with double connection joints, enclosed in a exible film. Furthermore it is “grid connected”, meaning it is connected to the national power supply and thus can bene t from the “Feedin Tari ”, opening new horizons for sustainable development under every aspect.
Thanks to its wide range of application possibilities and the access to “Feed-in Tari ” Aurora is a really innovative solution for the eco-sustainable
construction sector. It can be in fact installed also in those locations precluded from the traditional photovoltaic systems due to space or aesthetic reasons and, with the contributions foreseen by the “Feed-in Tari ”, it will pay itself off and guarantee also a nancial return. Based on the actual Italian regulation, Aurora will bene t from the major contributions, relative to the small domestic systems from 1 to 3 kW totally integrated and this will allow a complete amortization of the investment within only 11 years. Furthermore, the contributions will be allocated for 20 years; therefore, the contributions received during the next years are a pure capital gain, which adds up to the economic advantages deriving from the use of the energy produced by Aurora for your personal needs and its eventual feed-in to the power grid.
The photovoltaic canvas of Aurora is waterproof and easy to maintain, the superior part has a indaco/aubergine color, whereas the inferior side is ilver colored. The siliceous has been tested with 20.000 openings and closings. The weldings have been tested with 45.000 openings and closings (from -20°C to +80°C).
