The European Geothermal Congress EGC 2013 in Pisa
The EGC 2013 will be set from 3 to 7 June 2013, in Pisa (Italy). A stage to present and discuss new developments in the science, technology, industry, and policy of geothermal energy in Europe.
On 3 to 7 June 2013, Pisa in Tuscany, Italy, will witness the gathering of the entire European geothermal sector. The European Geothermal Congress EGC 2013 will provide a stage to present and discuss new developments in the science, technology, industry, and policy of geothermal energy on our continent. The congress will bring a major geothermal conference back to Tuscany, the cradle of geothermal power production. EGC2013 will include a celebratory event at the geothermal site in Lardello, Italy, in honour of the anniversary of the first geothermal electricity production dating back to 1913.
Pisa, the historical city on the River Arno, a famous place for science and art over centuries and thriving today with modern research and education institutions, offers perfect conditions for concentrated work at the conference, and invites you to explore the geothermal energy use in the region, from humble ground-source heat pump applications to high-enthalpy steam fields.
With EGEC and IGA-ERB joining forces for EGC 2013, the organisers demonstrate the growing economic weight of geothermal energy, and the importance of close links between science and industry that will be required to increase the share of geothermal energy within the European energy portfolio.
We have invited all players in the geothermal sector to contribute to EGC 2013, to present their newest findings and ideas, to discuss scientific results as well as new project developments, to consider the necessary steps in policy and regulation; in short, to help to grow the geothermal energy network in Europe.
Registration for the congress is now open. More information can be found here.
