The BITZER ROADSTAR: large-scale field test passed

ROADSTAR is a compressor for use in vehicle air conditioning applications (such as buses) that has been manufactured in the intent of optimizing its predecessors. Its innovation consists in the innovative surface treatment that extends the service life and increases the reliability of the compressor. In addition, ROADSTAR has an integrated oil-collecting tank in the inside that makes maintenance and collection of the oil easier. This tank, which is divided into small parts, needs lubrication, sealing and cooling the shaft seal.
 

Anyway, a part technical information, ROADSTAR has passed numerous tests and field tests. In 2011, 700 ROADSTAR have been sent to the roads in various countries (Brazil, Europe, India, Iran, Mexico and the US) by German BITZER experts. The results showed that the new compressor covered over 96 million kilometres, confirming its reliability. ROADSTAR performances impressed all the customers because of the perfect service with no failures. As an example, even a Middle-East manufacturer of bus air conditioning systems found the BITZER ROASTAR 100% reliable, even in extreme conditions.

The BITZER compressor is in use in 400 buses in many big cities.

Thanks to its success and for the excellent performances, ROADSTAR will participate in the 2014 Olympic Games in Sochi and a model of it will be available at the BITZER trade fair stand at Busworld in Kortrijk from 18 to 23 October 2013.
