Solarwatt: The Self-Financing Roof

Solar collection panels replace conventional roofing tiles: SOLARWATT AG, Dresden, is launching its new product: the in-roof system SOLARWATT Easy-In – a solar system specifically designed for pitched roofs that replaces conventional roofing tiles and produces eco-friendly solar energy, which can be either utilized onsite or fed into the electrical grid. “This way the owner gains a roof that finances itself in two ways“, explains Michael Neumann, sales engineer and product manager for Easy-In: “On one hand by feeding energy into the grid and on the other hand by replacing roofing tiles which saves cost on roof covering.”

Time- and money-saving module frames mounted on to roof battens
The SOLARWATT Easy-In system fits many different roof types and pitches between 22 and 65 degrees. The innovation from Dresden enables fast and easy mounting, since no additional installation system is necessary when mounting the modules to the wooden skid. The module frame that simultaneously functions as the installation system connects directly to wooden structure with suction anchors screwed into the roof battens. This process saves material, installation time and money. Due to the minimal amount of material and tools required, installation time can be cut in half.

Highly efficient in energy production, fire prevention and rain-proofing capacity
Integrated ventilation at the rear of the roof surface improves current efficiency. The SOLARWATT Easy-In system fulfils all technical standards for fire-prevention, rain-proofing as well as the impacts of wind, snow loads and hail. The system was developed in cooperation with Saxony’s roofing trade and follows the guidelines of the Central Association of the German Roofing Trade (ZVDH).
