Solarexpo and Greenbuilding: renewable energy, distributed generation, energy efficiency and sustainable architecture

Solarexpo, the international exhibition and conference on renewable energy and distributed generation, is gearing up to open its doors for a 12th edition, which will be held in conjunction with 5th edition of Greenbuilding, the international exhibition and conference on energy efficiency and sustainable architecture. These two sister events come together within a single strategic vision of offering the most complete overview of products, technologies and solutions from the fields of renewable energy and sustainable architecture. Together they constitute Italy’s leading event in this sector.

Solarexpo & Greenbuilding
will be held on 4-6 May 2011 at the Verona exhibition centre, Italy. The upcoming edition will see about 1,400 exhibitors, 40% from outside Italy. About 70,000 visitors are expected to attend the trade fair’s 11 exhibition halls, which will feature technology focus areas, special events and dedicated showrooms to highlight the most important and innovative technologies in this fast-moving sector.

Solarexpo 2011 presents three technology focus areas dedicated to particularly topical issues: PV Supply Chain featuring technologies linked to the photovoltaic supply chain; CSP – CPV, an entire area especially for new solar concentrating technologies (solar thermodynamic and concentrating photovoltaic); and Outdoor Exhibition, an external area presenting mini-wind technologies as well as PV trackers and inverters for solar parks.

Solarexpo will unveil the first edition of E:Move, a special event dedicated to electric mobility. E:Move takes the form of a thematic “walking tour” through the exhibition centre’s passageways, where innovative projects and products in electric mobility will be displayed along with the latest models of electric and hybrid vehicles.

The fifth edition of POLYGEN, a special event on cogeneration and trigeneration, will also be presented within Solarexpo this year. This thematic “walking tour” takes place around Hall 1, in conjunction with Bioenergy Expo, showcasing emerging high-efficiency and ecological technologies dedicated to the generation of electricity, heat and cooling.

SOLARCH – building solar design & technologies – is also back for Solarexpo 2011. This themed area will showcase the most innovative technologies and the best international projects in solar design and complete building integration of photovoltaics and solar thermal. In other words, SOLARCH will be the highest expression of the unison between solar technology and contemporary architectonic language.

Greenbuilding’s 5th edition will focus on energy efficiency in the building envelope and sustainable architecture, energy efficiency in building plants, sustainable water cycle in buildings, greening the built environment, design, audit & consulting, energy retrofitting, certification, ESCO, R&D, professional software, technical press and institutions and sector associations.

Illuminazioni
will be a special event as part of Greenbuilding 2011: an innovative showroom concept dedicated to excellence in construction. This third edition of Illuminazioni will focus on the topic of energy retrofitting historical buildings.
