Reverso FS: between aesthetics and functionality – A Meier Tobler report

In the HVAC sector, the balance between design and performance is becoming increasingly central. Meier Tobler, a Swiss company active in the HVAC industry since 1937, explored this topic in its online magazine with an article dedicated to the Reverso FS fan coils installed at the new headquarters of Comal.ch, a renowned multidisciplinary design studio.

Comal.ch’s headquarters reflect the studio’s innovative approach, which goes beyond simple design, as suggested by its slogan "design beyond": interiors stand out for the use of wood and concrete, with playful combinations of color and light, enhanced by surprising graphic details. For climate control, the choice fell on Reverso FS, whose design merges past and future. Inspired by traditional radiators but with an aesthetic reminiscent of the futuristic universe of the film 2001: A Space Odyssey, these fan coils blend stylishly into the environment, thanks in part to their slim 12 cm thickness.

In the common area of Comal.ch’s headquarters, two versions of the 800 series were installed right in front of the large windows, providing a subtle yet intriguing contrast with the playful Ticinese dialect phrases displayed on the ceiling.

According to Mauro Carobbio, General Manager of Comal.ch, thanks to Reverso: "On one hand, the desired temperature can be reached almost immediately, on the other hand, each unit can also be individually adjusted" via the screen on the units or a dedicated app.

Installation of the fan coils was quick and straightforward. On this topic, Silvano Enne, a design technician at the installation company Fieni Danilo e Figlio SA, states: "For each unit, it was enough to connect the electricity supply as well as the inlet and outlet of the heating water through one of the two feet."

With thermostats, the optimal temperature can be maintained throughout all seasons, ensuring maximum comfort throughout the building.
