MCE 2014: all the upcoming news of the year's event in HVAC-R
(Milan, Italy) The 39th edition of MCE – MOSTRA CONVEGNO EXPOCOMFORT will take place from 18th to 21st March 2014. Here's an interview to Massimo Pierini, Business Unit Director, Reed Exhibitions Italia.
(Milan, Italy) The 39th edition of MCE – MOSTRA CONVEGNO EXPOCOMFORT, the leading International biennial exhibition, dedicated to residential and industrial installations, air-conditioning and renewable energy, will take place from 18th to 21st March 2014 at Fiera Milano, Rho.
Less than two months before the event, we interviewed Massimiliano Pierini, Business Unit Director at Reed Exhibitions Italy (the company that organizes the event), asking for a preview of what will be happening during MCE this year:
Mr. Pierini, Expocomfort will open the gates very soon, what kind of response are you having by companies?
«Fortunately, we are having an excellent response, there’s no decrease in the number of exhibitors, but this is probably because MCE is an international event: the Italian Market is still having a bad period».
So you expect many international exhibitors? From which countries?
«Yes, we certainly expect a greater presence of international exhibitors and visitors.
Until a few days ago I would definitely mention Turkey as first, but the latest news from Ankara make me feel more cautious. We also expect a massive presence from East Europe and South America».
The Concept of the next edition of MCE is “Global Comfort Technology”, how will you deal with this concept during the fair?
«I am convinced that integration is happening, thanks to the recently introduced regulations, companies are now ready and the opportunity to make this approach concrete is real. A reality that will surely be more and more widespread in the future».
Every year at MCE are presented the most important innovations in technology, through a window (Verso la Classe A) and a path through the stands of exhibitors (Percorso efficienza & innovazione).
Can you give us a preview of the products that will be presented this year?
«The selection is still in progress, so we do not have an accurate framework yet, certainly the attention of companies is turning towards hybrid integrated systems, such as heat pump-boiler systems, technologically innovative heat recovery systems and humidity control systems».
Another news of MCE 2014 will be the new event That's Smart, an exhibition space dedicated to the combination of thermo-hydraulic systems and electrical systems. What visitors will find in this new area?
«We have created a 'fair within the fair' where visitors will find the most important manufacturers in the field of house automation and energy saving.
We believe that the integration should be done also with the world of electricity. This new space inside MCE will represent the meeting point between the plumbing and the electrical world».
An important part of MCE is also the rich program of events and seminars. What are you planning for the 2014 edition?
«This year the program of seminars and events will be chaired by the Politecnico di Milano and will follow as a leitmotif the concepts of Smart City and Smart Plan, namely the integration of the building in the city network and in the territory.
We will give an overview on the world market and on the main companies in the sector over the next four years, showing important case histories».
