IBT Group & Quellenhof: first "clean & green" hotel in Val Passiria

IBT Group, the exclusive partner of Capstone Turbine Corporation ®, installed a cogeneration turbine technology "oil-free",  a unique patent in the world, to meet energy requirements of Quellenhof hotel in Val Passiria (Trentino Alto Adige Region, Italy).

Two Capstone C65 turbines, indeed, produce 125kW electric and 224kW thermal power needed to power the hotel, helping to reduce CO2 emissions into the atmosphere up to 800 tonnes per year with energy savings of more than 30%.

A Clean & Green hotel: the eco hotel, part of a luxury resort that includes more than 5,000 sqm of spa and wellness area with 8 pools and 20 saunas, meets the philosophy of eco-friendly tourism and total respect for the environment. It is in fact based on the principles of bio-architecture, with the use of natural materials and energy systems with low energy consumption, as well as compliance with rules such as minimum generation of waste by recycling, the use low-energy light bulbs, etc.

Faithful to IBT and Capstone philosophy, characterized by an ethical choice of care, respect and environment protection, Trentino Alto Adige itself is one of the regions where the company from Treviso is more active: IBT has indeed already worked with hotels such as Nero Cubo and Adler, and companies like Recla for the provision of their energy efficient plants.

As evidence of the commitment in this region, IBT will be at Klimaenergy of Bolzano, the show dedicated to energy saving, which will be held on 23-25 ​​September, with a workshop dedicated to hotels in South Tyrol on environmental issues related to energy consumption.

In the future IBT is counting to continue its commitment to Clean & Green: Capstone fleet, indeed, thanks to over 21 million of operating hours  in the world, helped in 10 years reducing CO2 emissions for 500,000 tonnes, saving an amount of energy equal to 750,000 barrels of oil and producing 700,000 MWh from renewable sources.
