“GREEN CITY ENERGY” TO GIVE A “GREEN” AND “INTELLIGENT” FUTURE TO OUR CITIES

Pisa 1st- 3rd July 2010
At Palazzo dei Congressi conferences on sustainable and competitive development of urban areas with the use of renewable energies

How can we change urban system of our cities? Which building regulations should we adopt? Which policies and real project should we carry on to make urban areas greener, giving our life a close sustainable future easily accessible?
These topics will be dealt with at “Green City Energy”, the first “International Forum on the new energies for the cities´ competitive and sustainable development” scheduled in Pisa next 1- 3 July.

Scientists, politicians, experts, university teachers, Italian and European administrators of the most innovative cities as far as alternative energy use is concerned and representatives of national energy supplier will all gather to compare ideas on the matter but, above all, to share best practices, that is to say existing examples of how to put sustainable energy production at the core of our cities governance.

Organised by Clickutility, a company from Genoa specialized in big events organization especially on energy and environmental education, the Forum will be focused on “Green City” and critical success factors for the medium and long-term development based on European Union initiative Smart Cities”.
We need to make clear the changes that cities undergo, underlining how new energies improve citizens’ life and create sustainable development of manufacturing. Moreover, it is important to stress how local administrations can do in strategic planning, resources management and operative choices to make our cities smarter.

The perfect setting for the event couldn’t be but Pisa, reference point in Italy for medium-size cities committed to research projects on renewable and clean energies. This year Pisa, together with Rome and Milan, joined the “E-mobility Italia” project for a new electric mobility model. From September we will see electric vehicles (Smart Electric Drive), rechargeable directly in the street.
Pisa Administration, therefore, together with the Province and Tuscany Region promote “Green City Energy” with the partnership of Pisa University and Scuola Superiore S. Anna.
