GRAPHIC MEDIA: EXCEEDING EXPECTATIONS

The European Energy Efficiency Improvement (EEEI) project in the graphic media industry wound up its activities on 31 March 2009.
The final results for the 105 participating graphic media companies were better than anticipated by the project partners, pointing to a high potential for energy efficiency in the industry.
The benchmark results were an annual energy reduction of 55 TJ with a goal of 35 TJ.
The annual reduction of CO2 emission was 4 596 tons, with a goal of 2 455 tons. The direct annual energy cost reduction reached €1 million, with a goal of €490 000.
