GEOTHERMY HAS A LEADING ROLE
Thursday 11th of March 2010 Decree nr 22/2010 “Reorganization of normative on research and growing of geothermal sources according to article 27, paragraph 28, of Law nr 99 of 23rd July 2009” came into force.
The Regulation, enacted last 11st of February by the Cabinet and published on the Official Gazette (nr 45) of 24th of February, aims at guaranteeing a competitive system in the use of high temperature geothermal sources and simplifying rules for low and middle temperature geothermy authorization.
At the same time it will ensure a sustainable development of the sector and the necessary environmental protection.
If we consider the increasing interest on this type of alternative energy and, as a consequence, autonomous interventions made by many regions, the decree was more that expected and necessary.
