Embraco
About Embraco - Specialized in cooling solutions, Embraco is the world leader in the hermetic compressor market for refrigeration. It is headquartered in Joinville (SC), in southern Brazil, and has plants in Italy, Slovakia and China, and three sales and technical assistance offices, in the United States, Mexico and Italy.
Founded in March 1971, it employs globally, about 9 thousand people. With production capacity of approximately 30 million compressors per year, it sells hundreds of models tailored to different markets in over 80 countries.
Embraco is recognized worldwide for the leading-edge technology of its products and for offering innovative cooling solutions. Its biggest differential is the focus on research, in the search for products with greater energy efficiency, low noise and reliability. With 862 patents granted in the world, it applies up to 3% of annual net revenues in research and development.
Sustainability is one of the five pillars. Seen as an important competitive differential, it guides decisions in all areas of the company from the Triple Bottom Line (TBL) concept, which represents the balance between economic, environmental and social aspects.
The concept is present in the way Embraco does business in the global market, the relationship with the local community, the development of social and environmental criteria with the supply chain, and is part of the goals that executives should seek throughout the year.
Since 2004, Embraco is participating of the Global Compact, movement led by the United Nations (UN), which seeks to encourage member institutions to strengthen measures that promote social inclusion, environmental sustainability and reducing inequality.
