AN ELECTRIC MOTORCADE WILL OPEN GREEN CITY ENERGY 2010
Green City Energy, International Forum on the new energies for the cities´ competitive and sustainable development will take place at Pisa Palazzo dei Congressi, from the 1st to the 3rd of July.
Pisa Administration, together with the Province and Tuscany Region, promote “Green City Energy” with the partnership of Pisa University and Scuola Superiore S. Anna. The event is organized by ClickUtility, agency specialized on big events connected to environmental education and Energy topics. The focus of the event will be the concept of “Smart City”, good to live in.
An motorcade of electric cars, leaded by Pisa mayor Marco Filippeschi, will wind from Piazza dei Miracoli to Palazzo dei Congressi in Pisa to launch Green City Energy and present the innovative project of electric mobility promoted by Enel, with the co-operation of Daimler-Mercedes and Piaggio, starting in Pisa from September 2010. The motorcade will leave at about 9.15 am.
In front of Palazzo dei Congressi, the vehicles will make some laps in a special circuit. At the end, they will be available to those who want to test them for the three days. There will be: Smart fortwo electric drive with zero emission electric engine 30 KW (41 CV), Electric Piaggio Porter and Piaggio MP3 Hybrid.
“Green City Energy, maintains Marco Filippeschi, will put together scientists, politicians, experts, university teachers, Italian and European administrators of the most innovative cities as far as alternative energy use is concerned and representatives of national energy supplier will all gather to compare ideas on the “city-energy” topic trying to set guidelines and governance models to give a green and smart future to our cities. That is why we will take part to Enel mobility project from September 2010.”
The project is an innovative pilot project that will concretely show safe, efficient and smart city mobility. The vehicles will recharge directly in the street thanks to special energy “pumps” that will curiously, but smartly, change the city aspect.
The minicircuit will give the opportunity to anybody to test for free inside Green City Garden, created by ClickUtility and realisez by the company “M. Pacini” from Pisa, with the co-operation of “Orti Pisani”Association. The garden will be a concrete example of how to underline the relationship among urban green, town center livability and energy saving.
Carlo Silva, ClickUtility chairman, says “Green City Garden is an example of how urban public spaces, new and renovating buildings can be enriched with green areas. The urban vegetable garden, instead, represent a model for degradated areas requalification and a promotion tool of biodiversity and local products”.
