Euredia , the new European association of refrigerant distributors, repackagers, and reclaimers, has been officially launched. A-Gas is among its founding members , along with other companies active throughout the European refrigerant supply chain.
The initiative marks a significant step for the HVAC/R sector, at a time when the European Union is accelerating the implementation of climate policies and the progressive reduction of fluorinated gases, while strengthening the principles of the circular economy and responsible resource management.
A new benchmark for the European refrigerant market
Euredia was created with the aim of representing in a unified manner the companies operating in the distribution and regeneration of refrigerants , offering a direct point of contact with European institutions and national authorities.
The association intends to contribute to greater effectiveness in the application of regulations and to more coherent management of the market between the different Member States, in a context still characterised by regulatory and application differences.
Among the main areas of intervention identified:
- strengthening the enforcement of EU refrigerant legislation
- the fight against illegal trade and non-compliant practices
- the promotion of a circular economy model based on recovery and regeneration
Circularity, traceability and sector governance
One of the central elements of Euredia's mission concerns the role of refrigerant regeneration, considered a strategic lever for reducing environmental impact and limiting dependence on virgin gas production.
The association will also work to improve traceability along the entire supply chain and to foster greater collaboration between industry operators, institutions, and regulatory authorities.
With the creation of Euredia, the European refrigerant sector has a new, structured voice, aiming to combine ecological transition, competitiveness, and proper regulatory enforcement.
