Refrigeration and air conditioning: the XV European Conference in Milan

European Commission to present the proposal for a huge revision of the F-Gas regulation

The XV European Conference, about the latest technology of refrigeration and air conditioning, is getting closer. The biennial event organized by the United Nations will take place next June 7 and 8 in Milan.

The meeting will bring together all the major opinion leaders of the industry and it enjoys the patronage of the Council of Ministers and the International Institute of refrigeration.

The Edition 2013 presents itself as one of the most important conferences of the recent years: the main topic will be the new revision of the regulation on Fluorinated refrigerants (F-Gas Regulation) which will introduce new fundamental changes, towards the road of natural refrigerants, wished by the European Commission.

Europe, thanks also to the objectives of the Protocol 20-20-20, aims to direct its own technological development on the study of energy-efficient technologies with the use of renewable energy sources.

Cooling and heating will play a crucial role in 20-20-20: by 2020 20% of the energy consumed at European level must be produced from renewable sources, with specific targets for each country.

For this reason the European Commission presented last November a new proposal for the revision of the regulation, some updates will be discussed and presented in detail during the European Conference in Milan by Arno Kaschl of the European Commission.
